We are off to a great start in the library!

Students are learning how to select books, use shelf markers and check in/out books.  The students are doing a good job with these new skills!  We will continue to talk about proper book care, AR testing, AR logs and lots more.  I am sending the Count on Reading Logs (100 books) during the next two weeks.  You will also find the Auburn and Alabama book reading contest.  Lots of fun things are happening in the library!  Remember parents reading with your children is one of the best things you can do for them!

What's going on in the Library?

First and second grade students visited the AR store over the last two weeks.  This is an opportunity for the students to spend points earned by reading and taking quizzes.  Students were very excited about the store!  We will have three more AR stores this school year, in January, March and May.  The store will be held the week after the grading period ends.  Please encourage your students to read and do well on quizzes.

Parents you may follow your student's progress in AR by clicking the following link.

You will need to know your child's username and password
The bookshelf shows the quizzes a student has taken.  The colorful books show the student has passed that quiz.  You can also see what scores the student is making on each quiz.  If the book is gray in color then the quiz was not passed.  This will help you keep up with student's progress throughout the year.  If you have any questions please contact me at 285-0273 ext. 61005.
